
Often things are getting in their way. It could be depression and counseling can remove the limiting beliefs that are making them feel insignificant and defeated.

With young people, depression often comes across as emptiness and if counseling doesn’t work for that, sometimes medicine can help but usually just for a brief period of time. Often attention deficit hyperactivity issues actually don’t have any hyperactivity involved. For inattention issues, caused by attention deficit disorder, adults often misunderstand it as being ``lazy.`` But with medication treating attention deficit disorder, grades and self-esteem can skyrocket as the young person finds how capable they really are without ADD on their back.
